Once again Bill Gates decided to refer to the future of humanity, this time he took advantage of his attendance at the IA Forward 2023 event that took place in the city of San Francisco, United States. In this way, he commented that technology and the different advances would change people’s lives. But, in addition, he commented that two technological giants could come to an end if they do not adapt.

It is no secret to anyone that Bill Gates has managed on more than one occasion to “predict” the future. His last prediction was in 2015 and was related to the arrival of a pandemic that could put the lives of hundreds of people at risk. Despite the fact that on that occasion his statements were not taken very seriously, five years later the world experienced the arrival of a virus that put world health, the economy, and even politics in check.

Previously, the businessman has also referred to the future of humanity and the role of technology, artificial intelligence and the internet. In general terms, Gates has highlighted that advances in technology and everything related to it cause changes in people’s lives and habits.

Now, in his most recent prediction, Gates spoke specifically about two companies that are considered important worldwide. He warned that Google and Amazon will most likely have to adapt or could be in danger of disappearing by not being around. The Microsoft co-founder argued that AI will prevent people from having to go to search engines to solve their daily concerns, so that in the not too distant future people’s habits would change. “You’ll never go to a research site again, you’ll never go to a productivity site again, you’ll never go to Amazon again,” he said at the event.

Although Gates’ statement may be worrisome for these two technology companies, he acknowledged that companies are usually aware that they must be in constant transformation and in search of new services for their clients. In the case of Google, the technology giant has been working on incorporating artificial intelligence for months. It has even been announced that they hope to launch Google Bard soon, a tool with which they hope to solve all their users’ doubts without them having to go to the search engine. In addition, Bard would be a complement to the search engine and will serve as a direct competitor to ChatGPT.

On the other hand, Gates indicated that artificial intelligence could become a personal assistant with a very important role for people. In this way, Amazon and Google could lose importance.
