The American company Shift Robotics created the fastest shoes in the world called ‘Moonwalkers’.
The shoe, which has eight wheels, works with artificial intelligence (AI) and can increase walking speed by up to 250%.
“An average human walks about 5 kilometers or probably just under 5 kilometers per hour, but with Moonwalkers he would be able to go 11 kilometers per hour,” the company said.
The Moonwalkers that look like skates have a technology that does not allow them to roll freely for the user to maintain balance.
The new shoes that are worn over everyday footwear are battery operated and take around 90 minutes to fully charge.
The price of the Moonwalkers is around 1,400 dollars and for now it is only sold in the US.
Thanks to machine learning algorithms, the shoes allow the user to lock them whenever they want, go up or down stairs and automatically regulate their speed.
“The faster you walk, the faster you will go,” said Xunjie Zhang, the company’s founder and chief executive officer.
Zhang stated that the new invention can be used by anyone as it aims to “help all pedestrians” regardless of whether they know how to skate or not.
“Like the moving walkways you see at airports, with every step you take, the conveyor belt moves under your feet, allowing you to move faster,” he stressed.
.
It should be noted that the company also published a series of videos showing the appearance, explaining the function, answering user questions about how to brake with these shoes or how to walk downhill, among others.
