ohTikTok keep innovating! The popular social network has revealed that it is developing its own chatbot powered by Artificial Intelligence, which has the ability to recommend content based on user queries.
This new virtual assistant, called Tacois in the early stages of exploration and has been designed as a tool to enhance content search and discovery on the platform.
Tako is not only a chatbot, but also acts as a third-party assistant, giving users access to “entertaining and inspiring” content on TikTok.
Although the platform hasn’t provided specific details, according to app intelligence firm Watchful.ai, which has been testing the chatbot, Tako shows up as one of the interaction buttons located on the right side of the interface, just above the profile. of the user.
When Tako is invoked, this chatbot is capable of answering video-related questions using natural language queries.
For example, you can be asked about specific details of a topic displayed in a video, working similarly to Google’s ChatGPT, Bing, or Bard.
Additionally, requests can be made for Tako to suggest videos on a particular topic, and the chatbot will display result lists with detailed information such as name, author, topic, and direct links to the respective videos.
This innovative feature will allow TikTok to provide users with content that is highly personalized and targeted to their specific preferences, which could set the platform apart from other social networks.
The Watchful.ai firm points out that Tako has the potential to offer users a unique and satisfying experience.
However, Reuters reports that the Watchful team began discovering references to Tako in some versions of the TikTok app in early May, including a test version on iOS devices in the United States.
Tako is currently in a limited trial for select users in the Philippines, and the company has made it clear that it has no plans to expand its availability beyond current regions and features.
It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that TikTok has explored the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Recently, at the end of April, a new feature was revealed that uses AI to apply filters to users’ profile photos, adding even more creative elements to the experience on the platform.
Tako, the new TikTok chatbot, promises to take the content discovery experience to another level!
