Huesca
The PSOE Huesca will modernize the city’s public lighting and will undertake its comprehensive change to LED technology. This has been announced by the PSOE candidate for Mayor, Luis Felipe, who has stressed that “when there is LED throughout the city, the savings on the municipal energy bill could exceed one and a half million euros per year.”
Thanks to LED technology, Luis Felipe continued, “not only is lighting improved, electricity consumption is also reduced because this technology boosts energy savings by up to 80%”. For this reason, he has asserted, “one of the first points in which we will act will be the Cosos. Due to its physiognomy we need to change and adapt the lighting to avoid that feeling of darkness that exists today”.
In addition, and with the same objective of reducing consumption, the PSOE Huesca will study the possibility of placing presence sensors in some streets and areas of the city so that public lighting can regulate itself depending on whether there are passers-by or not.
With this initiative, the candidate has remarked that continuity is given to the line of work that the PSOE has already launched this Legislature, in which more than 2,000 light points have been changed to LED technology out of the 11,000 light points that They exist in the city.
The Miguel Servet park already has this technology in all its lampposts; as well as the incorporated municipalities of Huerrios and Banariés and different areas of all the neighborhoods. For example, street lighting such as Avenida de los Danzantes, Paseo Lucas Mallada, Polígono 41, Avenida Menéndez Pidal, Plaza de la Cruz Roja or Calle Alcañiz have been changed to LED.
The bullring also already has LED technology, and the renovation of the lighting on the Casino façade is underway.
