TikTok as a platform of the moment, content optimization and Paid Media strategies were some of the topics and trends that were addressed in the different sessions of the first edition of the International Social Summit, the new congress organized in Barcelona by Webcertain Group Ltd. dedicated specifically to the management of global projects in social networks.
The event brought together hundreds of attendees interested in learning about the trends and challenges of digital marketing and the success stories of distinguished international companies. The celebration of the International Social Summit attracted people from 14 countries to the Catalan capital, which highlights the international projection of the event and of the TransPerfect Group, the leading multinational in linguistic and technological services to which Webcertain belongs.
International Social Summit 2023
During the day, about thirty speakers gave 20 sessions, among which stand out the talk by Sam Gillies, Chief Content Officer of the TikTok agency Nonsensical, on how to make the most of the platform. The expert in this fashionable social network was awarded the Medallion Speaker award, recognition given to the favorite talk of the day. “This is a very interesting conference on social networks that is worth visiting next year”, He commented on his LinkedIn account.
On the other hand, Kenny Methan and Andreea Popa, Senior Social Media Manager and Head of Paid Social at the digital marketing agency Connective3, respectively, gave a conference on the importance of combining marketing strategies for organic and paid social networks.
Other notable presentations at the International Social Summit were that of Nicole Ponce, Influencer Marketing Team Lead of the online visibility management platform and content marketing Semrush, and Jo Turnbull, Marketing expert and web page administrator, who gave two presentations on influencer marketing and event marketing.
For her part, the Community Operations Manager at Zapier, Rachael Silvano, shared her knowledge about community building; while Adam Chandler, founder of the production company Reel Film, delved into the streamlining social video and finally, Fiona Bradley, founder and director of FB Comms, spoke about Meta ads.

The evaluation of the event was very positive both for those present and for the organizers, as Gemma Houghton, Marketing Director of Webcertain, values it: “We are delighted with the success of this event. The next edition of the International Social Summit is already scheduled for May 16, 2024. “As social media continues to grow in importance for global companies, we expect the event to grow in Barcelona in the coming years,” Houghton argues.
