The National Intelligence Center and National Cryptological Center (CNI-CCN) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote cybersecurity in the public sector.
The CNI-CCNdependent on the Ministry of Defense, will collaborate jointly with AWS in the definition of the roadmap of security of public administrations within the National Security Strategy.
But this collaboration will go further and both firms will work carrying out different initiatives to promote security in the cloud. Among them, they will launch actions of cybersecurity training and awareness addressed to government institutions. These will be enabled through education, training and certification programs for professionals who are experts in technology and security.
Likewise, they will also cooperate in the creation of security guides for the use of technology in the cloud. For this, public institutions will incorporate the shared security model in the aws cloudcontributing their experience and knowledge so that they can face the current threats.
And a third pillar in which this collaboration will materialize is in holding joint events that demonstrate the best practices for deployment and secure use of the cloud, not only in the public sector, but also in the private sector. In this line, Amazon will support cybersecurity operations centers who are in charge of surveillance, early warning and response to security incidents in public administrations.
Amazon, a certified partner for the CNI
In achieving this agreement, the fact that AWS is certified by the National Security Scheme (ENS), with a High category, has been taken into account. In addition, it is the first cloud provider that is responsible for the accreditation of several security services in the catalog of STIC Products and Services (Cpstic) of the CCI-CCN.
This ensures that Amazon meets the highest security and compliance levels required by state agencies and public organizations in Spain.
In this way, Spanish organizations, including those in the public sector, have access to AWS cloud infrastructure to make use of advanced technologies for data analysis, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, or mobile services, among others.
