The Police Nacional has arrested a couple in Seville (RRC, 32 years old and ECP, 26 years old) for carrying out different scams related to the appropriation of a high-end tourism and a large-capacity motorcycle and biker clothing valued at more than 3,000 euros. So far everything normal. The curious thing is that the couple, who had a sentimental relationship, was arrested thanks to the fact that one of her victims, a co-worker of the woman, was able to recognize her thanks to her WhatsApp profile picture. The accused woman, taking advantage of the carelessness of her co-workers, stole the personal documentation with which she later committed the crimes. Both detainees have already gone to court.
It is not the first time that the mobile messaging app help the Police to solve crimes and identify suspects. On October 25, a rapist and assailant was arrested in Valparaíso (Chile) thanks to the collaboration of detectives from the Central Investigation Center (CIPOL) and the Police (Criminal Investigation Brigade), since the Police of the physical characteristics of the suspect through this messaging system minutes before his arrest.
