The change to a model of hybrid work that many organizations have experienced has given them the opportunity to reassess and optimize their office space. However, this evolution has also posed challenges.
Among them, how to organize the employees who have returned to the office or the need to interpret data and knowledge to understand the appropriate configuration of the space.
To help companies govern themselves in these renewed environments, Logitech has just introduced a new desk reservation service offering a better hot desking experience for employees and increased ability to manage hot desking across multiple locations.
The service runs on Logi Dock Flexa dock station created to manage shared desktops in flexible work environments.
“Businesses know they have to earn the commute to get hybrid employees into the office. The solution is not to add more desks, but to offer a way for employees to plan their days in the office together.” says Scott Wharton, CEO of Logitech B2B, in a press release.
“We took a multi-pronged approach to creating Logi Dock Flex, which not only solves desktop reservation and management issues, but promotes social collaboration, while giving IT and workplace administrators insight into how desktops are used. both technology and space. Add.
Through Logitech’s desktop reservation service, employees can plan shifts with their teams, reserve a desk through Logi Tune, and notify teammates from the app. Once they arrive at the job site, they simply connect to the Logi Dock Flex with a single USB cable and get to work quickly.
Technical characteristics
With an 8-inch display, three USB ports on the front and three more on the back, the Logi Dock Flex supports dual-display, networking, and up to 100 watts of power, allowing for standard, secure device connections as well such as employees bring their own devices.
The employees can customize their workstation with your own background photo and away message, as well as one-touch join meetings via calendar integrations with the Logi Tune app. In addition, for ad-hoc reservations, the interactive panel indicates whether the work area is available or not.
IT teams can quickly install and deploy Logi Dock Flex on a large scale with secure cable management for clutter-free desktop areas. Through Logitech Synche IT has the ability to remotely monitor and manage Logi Dock Flex to adjust reservation settings, manage equipment and customize in accordance with the company’s hybrid policies.
Logi Dock Flex’s multi-service capability allows IT teams to choose Microsoft Teams, Zoom Workspace Reservation or Logitech’s own desktop reservation service, with an additional selection of reservation platforms to come.
Logitech’s desktop reservation service is managed through Logitech Sync and can be deployed with Logi Dock Flex or via QR codes to work independently, without the need to purchase Logitech hardware.
For facility managers, real-time data and analytics on space usage help them understand how flexible and return-to-office policies are performing. Workplace management data such as desk utilization, peak occupancy rates, and user behaviors take the guesswork out of space usage and planning.

The Logi Dock Flex will be available globally in Fall 2023 through authorized resellers and on logitech.com with a price of 700 dollars.
