Offer new growth opportunities to the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem in its process of adopting digital innovation, preparing for the global market and increasing the possibilities of become unicorns. These are the main objectives of the agreement signed in the framework of the Mobile World Congress 2023 between Huawei and the FundingBox accelerator. The program is intended to support the digitization, financing and internationalization of startups in Spain, boosting business opportunities.
This initiative is focused on entrepreneurial projects that are currently developing solutions in the fields of Artificial intelligenceas well as Machine Learning, Blockchain, Web3, Data analysis o Software as a Service (SaaS).
The startups that are part of the program They will be able to obtain technical advice from Huawei specialists, as well as entrepreneurs who have already achieved success with their projects internationally. Likewise, they will be able to receive cloud credits from the technology company of up to $120,000, as well as technical support.
Participants will be able to tell their project to venture capital funds and investment funds to increase their financing.
“The startup ecosystem is key to technological and economic development due to its dynamism, agility, and capacity for innovation,” he explained. Eric Li, CEO of Huawei Spainindicating that this collaboration is an opportunity to help startups learn from each other, taking advantage of the synergies offered by these acceleration programs.
This is one of Huawei’s initiatives within its Huawei Cloud Startup incubation and acceleration program, based on supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem from different angles, such as financial, training, mentoring, and technical support.
Internationalization of Spanish entrepreneurship
For his part, he FundingBox CEO, Xabi Chao, has pointed out that this program is an opportunity for Spanish startups to demonstrate their potential, especially in the field of expansion. The startups that carry out the program “will be prepared for the international market,” he assured.
And it is that one of the main challenges of newly created companies is to expand into other markets. Precisely for this reason, one of the points highlighted in the launch has been the possibility of the platform to scale business internationally, to access new clients in other countries.
This program developed in collaboration with FundingBox will start in March 2023. It will be done with an Open Call to invite the participation of startups that want to take part.
Ten will be the selected projects, which will participate in a four-week acceleration program.
The program will have as an appointment marked on the calendar a “Pitching Day” that will take place in Madrid, in which the participating startups will present their businesses to members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
