If you can’t update to the latest versions of Chrome and you like reading foreign-language web pages, you’re not going to like this move by Google.
There could be many reasons why you are using Google Chrome as your browser preferred both on your mobile phone and on your computer, and one of the features that you are surely using is the Google translator that is integrated.
When you are browsing the Internet and access a web page that is written in a language that is not yours, a small window will appear at the top that invites us to translate the page if we require it.
However, Google has started warning Older versions of Chrome will no longer support the built-in Google Translate, so if for some reason you can’t update your Chrome browser to the latest version, you’re in for a problem.
Specifically, the role of Google translator integrated into Chrome will be available from version 96 of the browser onwards, so if you have Chrome 95 released in October 2021, you will not be able to use the integrated translator.
Although they have not specified the date where the old versions of Chrome will stop being compatible with the translator from Google integrated, it seems that they have already been with it for what could be a matter of days.
The solution for PC: extensions
You shouldn’t worry, because version 96 of Chrome it was released in December 2021, so you probably already have it installed.
But if for some reason your device is not compatible with the most recent versions of Chrome, the only solution is to download the Google translator extension in your browser, to be able to continue translating the corresponding pages that are not in your language.
And this controversial decision by Google seems to be related to new translation capabilities that aren’t going to be compatible with older versions of the browser, including the ability to translate text into images.
