Dell Technologies has announced exciting additions to its range of cloud and as-a-service services, with the goal of helping businesses operate and innovate faster and more efficiently. These new offerings range from cloud platforms to public cloud storage software and client devices, giving customers greater technology flexibility to support their business needs in a variety of areas.
Chuck WhittenCo-Director of Operations Dell Technologiesexplained the importance of these new offerings, saying, “Our customers continue to look for a simpler technology experience to easily manage and access their assets and applications with predictable costs and greater flexibility.” Whitten noted that Dell APEX is the answer to these needs, offering end-to-end solutions that enable enterprises to support their operations from on-premises to public cloud and edge locations.
One of the highlights is the introduction of Dell APEX Cloud Platforms, which offer consistent multi-cloud operations. These fully integrated turnkey systems allow customers to assign workloads to the optimal environment based on their performance, cost and security requirements. In addition, they facilitate data mobility on a common multi-cloud storage layer, providing flexibility and efficiency in managing business applications and data.
Dell has worked in collaboration with renowned technology companies, such as Microsoft, redhat and vmware, to develop these new cloud platforms. For example, collaboration with Microsoft has resulted in the Dell APEX Cloud Platform for Microsoft Azure, which enhances the hybrid Azure experience by providing full platform software integration and automated lifecycle management.
In addition, Dell APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift simplifies the development and management of container-based applications in hybrid environments. This offering is built on the market-leading hybrid cloud application platform powered by Kubernetes, enabling customers to run containers and virtual machines in parallel natively within Kubernetes.
Finally, Dell APEX Cloud Platform for VMware gives customers the flexibility to deploy vSphere in a fully integrated system with high-performance software-defined storage. This option extends Dell APEX private cloud and hybrid cloud solutions, offering more alternatives to customers of vmware on your multicloud journey.
In addition to cloud platforms, Dell has also introduced Dell APEX Storage for Public Cloud, which enables the advanced capabilities and performance of market-leading enterprise data storage software to be brought to public clouds. This solution simplifies cloud storage management and offers a unified experience across platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and more.
Dell APEX has also expanded its focus to PCs and servers, with the goal of providing an as-a-service experience that makes it easier to manage day-to-day IT operations. Dell APEX PC-as-a-Service (PCaaS) helps enterprises simplify their technology infrastructure and accelerate device deployment, while providing predictable costs and flexibility in contract lengths.
Early adopters of Dell APEX PCaaS have experienced significant benefits such as a 50% reduction in help desk efforts, a 30% savings in support costs, and a 50% decrease in time spent employee device onboarding.
Tino LancellottiCIO of Xeroxcommented on his experience with Dell APEX, saying, “Dell APEX has helped us optimize our multi-cloud strategy to enable us to deliver software and services that meet the needs of the modern workforce.”
