Bill Gates warns of the end of Google and Amazon

Google, Amazon, Spotify and many other search and productivity sites are about to come to an end due to the rise of artificial intelligence (IA), at least, so he thinks Bill Gates.

Through an appearance at Goldman Sachs and SV Angel’s AI Forward 2023 event, held on May 21 in San Francisco, California; the co-founder of Microsoft warned about the development of artificial intelligence, stating that in the future AI will understand human thought patterns, needs and feelingswhich will completely change user behavior and will render hundreds of tools and websites obsolete.

“You’ll never go to a search site again, you’ll never go to a productivity site again, you’ll never go to Amazon”, Gates warned, adding that competition between big tech companies is now focuses on seeing who wins that “personal agent”

The war to see which of the big companies creates the best artificial intelligence tool is led by Google with Bard, a ChatGPT alternative that has not yet been released to the market; and Microsoft with Bing and its investments in AI developers, such as Open AIthe creator of ChatGPT.

Microsoft has introduced the ChatGPT tool to Bing search engines as well as Edge browser; marking a significant advantage over Google and Firefox. The company also plans to introduce artificial intelligence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
