The Uruguayan agency Young & Rubicam appealed to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to rejuvenate sports journalists Roberto Moar and Mauro Mas for their campaign for the U20 World Cup for the Banco de Seguros del Estado.
We are all Sub20 🇺🇾
To show our support, we turned two journalists from @Punto_Penal in its Sub20 version. We use an artificial intelligence filter based on an algorithm that recognizes faces and rejuvenates them.

In his LinkedIn account, the president of Young & Rubicam and partner of WPP Uruguay, Álvaro Moré, stated: “we are proud to have achieved this result working 100% internally, with our own team. The talent and dedication shone a one more time”.
The process
In his publication, Moré highlighted that the work was carried out entirely within the agency, in which the 300 people of his team were trained in AI. On a technical level, his equipment received videos with interlacing, a technique commonly used in television to conserve bandwidth. “By applying a series of algorithms, we increased the resolution and doubled the number of frames, thus improving the sharpness and fluidity of the image,” she said.
Next, they identified those frames in which significant changes in facial expressions occur. At these critical points, they extracted and processed the faces to give them a younger look using AI techniques.
“Then we merge these aged faces with the original frames, further improving the image resolution and quality using advanced algorithms. Finally, we transfer the style of these enhanced frames to the original video and apply a post-production finishing touch to homogenize the tones”, emphasized Moré.
“We are happy with the path we have chosen, which has led us to the moment we are living in all WPP Uruguay offices that are also in various developments of work with AI to improve internal processes and for clients. At this time that the present merges with the future, we only see opportunities for our clients and for our team”, concluded the president of Young & Rubicam.
