It is quite common for us to have dozens and dozens of applications installed on our mobile phone, and although we can deactivate their notifications, there are some essential ones that appear on the full screen, and are really annoying.
Perhaps the most annoying full-screen notifications are those of video calls or even the corresponding alarm, something that can spoil our experience if we are, for example, using the phone at that moment.
To avoid annoying full screen notifications of all kinds of Applicationsincluding the alarm, Android 14 is going to release a function that you were waiting for, and through which we will say goodbye to the heavy notifications full screen.
The function has been uncovered by the engineer Mishaal Rahman and is within the settings menu, allowing us to disable full screen notifications such as alarms or phone calls.
However, this notification function is not only seen for alarms, but also on Facebook and Discord, so we imagine that we can avoid those annoying phone call notifications from applications like Messenger and we will see if also in applications like WhatsApp.
Although some applications allow us to disable these types of notifications from their own settings, now with Android 14 we can change this in any type of application, revoking that full screen notification permission.
Currently only in beta version
This feature is currently in beta version of Android 14, through “settings”, then “applications”, then selecting “special application access” and finally the option to “manage full screen notifications”.
From there we will be able to allow or prohibit applications from showing us notifications in full screen mode, which are really annoying.
If you turn off the full screen notification, we will receive a standard notification, without taking up the entire screen, so we will not be interrupted with what we are doing.
