Ford has taken a big step into the future of driving by introducing its advanced Level 2 hands-free assistance system, which has been approved for use on Great Britain’s motorway network.
The Ford BlueCruise system is the first of its kind to be approved in Europe. That’s why there are already more than 193,000 BlueCruise-equipped Ford and Lincoln vehicles in Canada and the US.
In addition, from now on, users of qualified Mustang Mach-E models can use the “hands-free, road view” driving system on all 2,300 miles (3,700 km) of pre-mapped motorways in England, Scotland and Wales, designated as Blue Zones.

“We have set foot in the future. Going behind the wheel on modern highways becomes difficult for even the most affluent drivers. BlueCruise can take care of some of the heavy lifting, making motorway driving easier,” says Martin Sander, general manager, Ford Model Europe.

BlueCruise takes driver comfort and the practical benefits of driving assistance to a higher level. The system monitors road markings, road signs and changing traffic conditions to control steering, acceleration, braking and lane position.
